On the 30th anniversary of Black Monday — the stock market crash of 1987 — RagingBull.com editor Chuck Jaffe recalls what he was doing that fateful day, along with the long-term lessons investors could take away from that crash. On Oct. 19, 1987, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 508 points, 22.6 percent of its value; Jaffe was a young business reporter working for the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times.
