And just 16 days into the New Year, and already we are starting to see headlines of layoffs at some of this country’s biggest employers.
We’re talking companies like Google, who recently let go of about 1,000 workers, Amazon, where hundreds of employees were recently shed, and Apple, which just shuttered a 121-person division.
Think the layoffs are just coming from tech? Think again.
With all this, do you think “Uncle Jeff” here is nervous?
Heck no.
And that’s because, as a trained economist, I know that these cuts are different from the massive layoffs we saw in 2023.
Back then, companies were simply cutting the fat left over from when they hired on a massive scale during their Covid stimulus-induced hiring sprees.
As a trained economist, I know that the layoffs we are seeing now, for the most part, can be viewed as being part of the normal product cycle, where MASSIVE companies like these simply shift resources from weaker divisions to stronger divisions.
Folks, these are the companies I love to trade as part of my hugely popular Alpha Hunter service.
Look, layoffs STINK.
But if you are going to make trading a source of income, you can be darn sure that the price action of just about ANYTHING you’re trading is influenced by the unfortunate economics that often result from capitalism.
